Olmesartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension) in adults and children aged 6 years and older. It works by relaxing blood vessels, allowing blood to flow more easily and helping reduce the risk of heart attack, stroke, and kidney complications associated with uncontrolled hypertension. Olmesartan may be prescribed alone or in combination with other blood pressure medications under a doctor’s supervision.
